Black Is Love: An Excerpt

Black Is Love: An Excerpt  advocates for decentering stereotypical narratives that diminish the presence and advancement of Black and African peoples. It explores journeys of self-discovery, individually, and collectively through the lense of blackness. The body, history, and art are all tools used to bring the dancers and audience on a journey of unlearning and reimagining what one may think, know, and or understand about people of the African Diaspora. This work features black artists like rapper Jerell, R&B artists De’sha & OVG.  Visual art from South African artist Zanele Muholi, African American Artist James Van Der Zee, and many more also support the work.
